Reels have become one of the most popular tools on social media. In fact, more and more users are encouraged to use apps to make Reels for Instagram or other similar platforms. However, there are other people who do not like these types of videos at all, and would like to be able to delete them even if it were from Facebook. Because there is always the option of not hitting Play, but sometimes they can be really annoying.

Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow you to disable Reels directly, but there are some strategies you can carry out to see them as little as possible. Use SmmStore loyal fans and make a perfect new reels for your social media accounts.

Set your content preferences

Facebook uses algorithms to personalize your feed, which means you can influence what kind of content you see. And you can use this to make it seem like you’re not interested in Reels. When you see one, tap the three dots in the top right corner and select not interested. This will help the algorithm show you less similar content in the future.

Additionally, if you find that certain contacts or Pages are generating a lot of Reels, consider temporarily unfollowing them. This doesn’t mean unfriending them, which can be a bit harsh, but rather unfollowing their content so it doesn’t appear in your feed. You can also use the News Feed Preferences feature to prioritize posts from friends or Pages that don’t share Reels, which will allow you to see content more relevant to your interests.

Avoid interacting with Reels

Facebook’s algorithm learns from your interactions, so if you view, share or like a Reel, this indicates that you are interested in this type of content. Therefore, if you want to stop seeing Reels, it is important that you do not interact with any of them.

Although it may be tempting to look back at your friends’ Instagram or Facebook Reels history at some point, if the social network sees that you interact with this type of content, what it will do is show it to you more frequently.

Use browser extensions to remove Reels

If you frequently access Facebook from your PC, you can use browser extensions that allow you to customize your experience on the social network, with features that the social network doesn’t have natively. One popular option is Social Fixer, which allows you to hide certain sections of your feed, including Reels. Another similar tool is FB Purity, which offers advanced options for blocking unwanted content.

To install these extensions, first go to your browser’s extension store, such as Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, and search for the desired extension. Then, install it and follow the instructions to configure it to your needs. If you prefer, you can also find them through these links:

Use an old version of Facebook

In some cases, older versions of the Facebook app do not include Reels. If you are willing to sacrifice some new features, you can uninstall the current app and find an APK file of a trusted older version to install manually. Of course, you should be aware that doing this will involve taking some significant risks.

Switch to Facebook Lite

Facebook Lite is Facebook’s lightest app, designed for those with less powerful phones. And although it doesn’t completely eliminate the presence of Reels, it does reduce it considerably, so you’ll see fewer videos of this type.

You can download Facebook Lite from your device’s app store. Benefits of using this version include lower data usage, a simpler interface, and a lower chance of encountering featured Reels. If you’ve decided that this is the perfect option for you, it may be more convenient to download it from this link:

Why would you want to disable Reels?

There are a number of reasons why you might want to reduce or eliminate Reels from your Facebook experience. For starters, these types of videos tend to be incredibly addictive, so avoiding them can be a good way to avoid wasting your time.

It’s also possible that you simply don’t find this type of content entertaining or interesting and prefer to see traditional updates like photos, links, or statuses.

Another common reason is data usage, as Reels tend to consume more mobile data. This can be a major problem in case you have a limited data plan and don’t have the option to connect to a WiFi network.

Finally, you may want to simplify your feed to have a more organized experience that isn’t constantly cluttered with videos.
